What were the highlights of the Amazon India Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2017?

The Indian fashion domain is slowly becoming a colossal and chivalric affair, makings its mark as one of the most influential podiums for the global industry. Soon enough, we shall see India's fashion trends and industry going shoulder to shoulder with the likes of Paris, Milan, New York and London. And slowly making its mark is the Amazon India Fashion Week, a biannual event, held in March and its latest fashion show in October.

Given below are the highlights of this latest fashion showand what it had to offer to its fashion trend follows:

Hemant & Nandita: This duo took transported the audience of the fashion show, to the Victorian era of romance and passion. They enhanced the silhouettes in a summery essence through bright hues, which formed the basis of their collection. The highpoints of their collection include plenty of ruffles and high necklines, which added to the old school charm. Even their shoulder and back cuts provided a contemporary appeal.

Pallavi Mohan: The Not So Serious label offered the signature style of Pallavi Mohan, with a romantic collection titled 'Sweet Nectar'. She credits her inspiration from the likes of the honeybee, through voluminous layers of tulle in feminine hues. It cleverly mimicked the natural hive pattern and the complexity of its chambers. Keeping to the theme of her outfits, she focused on relax silhouettes, which were adorned with quilled floral applique, reminiscent of the movements of the bee.

AM.IT by Amit Aggarwal: Names the 'icloud', Amit Aggarwal collection was inspired by childhood memories, right from the likes of glitter filled balloons and the one - eyed bedtime teddy bear. It comprised of a dramatic ensemble, which featured plenty of glitter, sequin waste, recycled doll eyes, and other childhood mementoes such as music discs and pom - poms. The highlight of this collection in this fashion show was the perfect blend of salmon, lemon, powder blue and ivory shades.

Pankaj & Nidhi: Exploring new territories with their collection of 'Chromatique'', this dynamic duo was inspired by the Summer Exhibition held at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. Taking cues from this inspiration, they created a perfect blend of mesh textures and painted prints to create and unusual, yet extensive combination. The highlight of their collection included a varied colour palette that included pastels to high shine hues.

Masaba: What put an eye on Masaba Gupta's collection, was its iconic location from the Big Apple that serves as the perfect backdrop. It was the perfect ode to the diverse culture of the unique city. The collection included a line of progressive Indian wear, which includes the like of a peek - a-boobustiers, oversized shirts and bell bottoms. While dominating the monochrome palette, there was also a slew of red, pink and electric bluevibrance, staying true to Masaba's aesthetic style.
